Lisa and I would like to express our thanks to the 20 Dualies that came out to participate in the maintenance of the two Dualies Adopted trail in the Arrowhead loop, 3W11 and 3W13.  We also had a formal dedication and signing ceremony of 3W11 with Larry Harmier and Greg Hoffman. The Dualies have not only adopted 3W11 and 3W13, but we are also the proud sponsors of 3W13. 

After our tailgate meeting to go over the plans for the trail work, and to warn workers of the heightened hazards of rattlesnakes in the area, we paused for a group picture in front the Dualies banner which we had taped up in front the North Shore work center, and then we split into three groups to work on the trails. Larry Harmier lead the group that worked 3W11, while Steve Schumacher and I lead the groups that started on each end of 3W13 and worked toward meeting in the middle. 

The work consisted of brushing the trail to ensure that there was good visibility around the corners, and removing any rocks larger that one's fist.  Steve, Greg and myself we are mounted on ATV to carry the brushing tools, and each had a shovel to clear any trail drains that might be filled with debris.  All three groups finished around 12:30, (a good thing since it was getting pretty warm and was fairly humid), and headed back to the work center for a Dualie sponsored barbecue featuring the famous Dualie Burgers with home grown sliced tomatoes, chips and potato salad. This was topped off with chocolate chip cookies and washed down with all the ice cold soda and water you could drink.

A fair number of Dualies went on an afternoon trail ride to see and enjoy all of the trails in the loop, and John Epperly and his family enjoyed the free camping at the work center, while some of the Dualies enjoyed the accommodations at the rangers cabin near the center.  Greg invited Dualies that wished to do a trail survey or to help out with the trails to come up and avail themselves of the camping.
