What do you think you should bring with you when you are riding 10-50 miles away from the nearest road? You probably won’t get AAA to show up where the Dualies go riding! If you do irrepairably break down you might have to leave the bike and go get a 4wd jeep to extract your ride. Here are some ideas as to what to consider:

Having fellow Dualie, Eric “AAA” Bondus in your riding group is always a plus. He can fix a flat and keep the wild animals at bay with food from YOUR pack! And he’ll do it in under ten minutes flat!!

Each of the riders below carry different things. Take a look inside their packs and bike to see what, why and how they carry supplies!

There are some basic things all riders should carry. Just like the Boy Scouts have the ‘Ten Essentials’, Dualsporters also have a list:

Water   DUH! You gotta have it- don’t ride without it!

Snacks  Riding saps a body of energy quickly. Make sure you have some food to refuel YOU!

Riding Buddy  Having someone with you to go for help if you breakdown or just to think things through so you don’t do something silly

Tools/Spares  Things come loose, we fall and twist things, make sure you have the tools and spares necessary to fix whatever breaks on the trail

Clothing  You can ride a long way on a dirtbike. From elevation and weather changes to temperature extremes from day to night, make sure to dress for all weather you might encounter

First Aid Kit  It seems like no one carries even a band aid but lots of riders get scraped up and hurt. Infections may not happen as quick as a cut but they hurt more and can be prevented in most cases with a small first aid kit

ATGATT  All The Gear, All The Time. Knee pads, elbow pads, boots, gloves, helmets and goggles prevent a lot of injuries and make a tip over something you can laugh off instead of ending you ride!
